The leprechaun skipped along the path, whistling an Irish jig.
He'd just finished counting his pot of gold, which really was quite big!
Pausing a moment, for a sound he had heard (twas the snapping of a twig).
He grabbed his Irish whiskey and took a swig!
Fearing the worst, he turned on his heels and ran back the opposite way.
He quickly dashed to the rainbow's end, all the while hoping his gold was ok.
Now leprechauns, mind you, are wee little folk.
Maybe two feet high, and that's no joke.
Their wealth, it is said, comes from just one source.
It's from the shoes that they make for the fairies of course!
So imagine his glee, as he rounded the bend,
On seeing his pot filled with gold at the rainbow's end!!!!!.....
Leprechaun and his pot of gold

May the leprechauns be near you
To spread luck along your way.
And may all the Irish angels
Smile upon you this St. Patrick's Day.
